If you are like me, there were many “light bulb” moments during my journey through life. Case in point: I distinctly remember when I turned 30 years old. I had a flashback to when I was 18 years old, standing in front of my parents, lashing out to them in response to lectures about how I was making bad choices. I confidently told them I knew all there was to know and how they were “just so wrong.”
Well, now being 30 years old, I realized just how right they were…that was a hard pill to swallow. Effectively, I did not know what I did not know! When I turned 40 years old and looked back at being 30 years old, it happened again. The wisdom of having lived 40 years proved to be superior to the wisdom of 30 years. The same thing happened at 50 and 60 years old.

The point being, the older I get and accumulate more data, the more I realize just how much there is to know about life.
I said all that to frame these next words. Up until the moment I died at 52 years old, I lived what I would define as a normal life for a person who had limited Christian knowledge and no relationship with God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. I never went to church and had no clue about the benefit of doing so.
I suffered from great emotional swings, heartbreaks, constant stress, and anxiety (normal, right?). I, not knowingly (did not know what I did not know), listened to all the wrong people…my so-called friends! If someone hurt me, I hurt them back. To say I was selfish and egotistical would be an understatement.
And…then I died!

As I mentioned in the introduction, the next day, I opened the Bible and tuned into Trinity Broadcast Network and have not looked back since. Talk about not knowing what I did not know! As I will detail later in the book, for the next ten years, the Holy Spirit took me from subject matter to subject matter. I had no clue where I was being taken.
To date, 15 years later, I not only see life from an entirely new perspective; I am the most emotionally stable and peaceful me I have ever been; I virtually have a smile on my face every day that rarely goes away. No pot, no alcohol, no medications…no anything. I literally cannot wait to wake up each morning to see what the day will bring.

Please note: God is no respecter of person, meaning it does not matter who you are or what you may have done in your life. He will do the same for you if you will give Him the time.
Okay, let us get back on track.

First, I will be defining foundational Biblical truths you will need to understand the hurdles to be overcome during the transitional process of change. Unlike a track star who jumps over the hurdles, running a high hurdle race, God will take you through the hurdles. Running the race this way is what produces long-lasting change.
Second, I will be providing the actual scientific evidence of how God’s Word changes us mentally and physically.
